As we previously reported, Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 16 is going to be called “Misery Loves Company.” According to Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King, that title means something.
“It’s me and [PLL writer] @jonell_lennon rockin’ the backlot today,” Marlene tweeted on August 5. “Episode 316 ‘Misery Loves Company’ — And there’s a clue in that title.”
Hmmm … What do you think that clue is?
As one of our commentators cleverly pointed out on our last article about this episode, this could be a reference to a Toby (Keegan Allen) quote from way back in Season 1 summer finale: “I spent a year in reform school. I’ve got friends in all the wrong places, and misery loves company.” He said this to Emily (Shay Mitchell) before trying to explain his innocence.
Is that a clue that this is a Toby-centric episode, maybe dealing with his backstory with Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and/or Jenna (Tammin Sursok)? We know the episode is supposed to feature some Spoby scenes, so it could be possible.
Or is the clue the “loving company” part? Maybe this is a hint that we’ll find out more about the “A” team this episode…
